• Student Activities

Run for Student Government, become a certified student leader, play intramural basketball, hop on the PATH train with fellow students to see a Broadway show, participate in a community service project … Student activities will help you enjoy a well-rounded college life! Student Activities is the key to having a full college experience at Hudson County Community College.

Hudson County Community College recognizes classroom instruction is vital to your professional and career development. We also know extra-curricular activities — and developing meaningful and rewarding relationships — are just as important to expanding your experiences and preparing you for your life after college.

Our Student Activities Office provides a whole host of activities and events to engage you with other members of the community and to fulfill your cultural and recreational interests and needs. The Student Activities staff supervises clubs and organizations (including the Student Government Association) and intramural sports, sponsors and produces the College’s annual Lecture Series, organizes parties and events for members of the community, and coordinates the sales of discounted tickets and trips to Broadway shows, sporting events, museums, theme parks, movie theaters and many other events and venues. Student Activities is also responsible for providing comprehensive leadership training to students through the L.E.G.O. Program. The College also has chapters of two national honor societies — Phi Theta Kappa and Psi Beta.

You are invited to learn more about the events and activities offered by Student Activities, and to become involved. Not only do employers look for involvement in community projects and activities when considering candidates’ credentials for work, the contacts you make when you participate in these activities may serve as the foundation for lifetime friendships and networking resources.
