      Characteristics of Self-Empowerment for Job Seekers

      This course will provide an overview of the behaviors an effective job seeker needs to master and emulate in attaining self-empowerment while in the job search. It provides a review of the different types of power that all individuals possess and how to apply them effectively.

      Objectives: Upon Completion of this Program Participants Will:
         •   Understand the characteristics of an effective leader and understand why they are critical when in job transition.
         •   Describe the types of power bestowed upon individuals and how it is perceived in society and organizations.
         •   Understand the concept of resiliency and the behaviors associated with the Ten Characteristics of Self-Empowerment and why they are important when job searching.
         •   Determine which areas they need to develop their personal plan for self-empowerment.
         •   Recognize some of the negative stereotypes that are projected onto job seekers both in organizations and in society as a whole.

      Email Etiquette

      Email has become very prevalent in most people's lives and many use it to cheaply and quickly communicate with friends, family, and co-workers. Although this technology is available to everyone, and most people are accustomed to using email, some people still are not very savvy when it comes to understanding how email functions in a relationship both personally and professionally.

      This course will assist participants to:
         •   Understand the importance of Email Etiquette and producing professional business documents.
         •   Learn empowering tips and techniques for strengthening skills in writing, sending and managing emails.
         •   Proper email formatting.
         •   Toning down emails.
         •   Effective email management.
         •   Review and revise actual work email samples.
         •   Development personal actions for applying concepts taught.

      Finding the 25th Hour: The Power and Secrets of Time Management

      Finding the 25th Hour: The Power and Secrets of Time Management is a unique course that goes beyond the traditional concepts of time management and provides practical skills and techniques for professional and self-management that can be applied immediately.

      Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
         •   Understand and describe the components of the Prioritizing Points Model.
         •   Identify their high and low leverage vs. reactive and not reactive activities > Determine what types of organizational tools will work best for their individual time and self-management needs.
         •   Learn and practice self-empowering behaviors such as effective communications skills, listening, assertiveness and scheduling techniques to maintain control over the schedule.
         •   Understand how to manage email, telephone and electronic interruptions effectively.
         •   Determine which areas need development and create actions for individual self-empowerment.

      Interpersonal Communications Skills: The Pathway to Self-Empowerment

      The importance of Effective Communications in the workplace is discussed and explored through discussion and some interactive activities. Participants will explore the importance of oral and written communications skills as well as assertive communications skills and listening skills.

      Upon Completion of this course participants will:
         •   Understand the role and process of interpersonal communications in the workplace.
         •   Recognize the impact of verbal and nonverbal techniques.
         •   Review assertive communication styles.
         •   Review listening skills as they relate to interpersonal communication skills.
         •   Develop individual action plans designed to apply course teachings on the job.

      Intro to Creative Writing

      Emerging writers have stories to tell. They also have questions: “How do I start?”; “How do I write what I want to say?”; and “How do I stay motivated?” This interactive, five-session online course will help participants get started. Establish a productive writing practice and writing community, and learn the basic elements of effective writing; and keep going, stay motivated and focused to complete writing goals in any genre.

      Participants have the choice of registering for all five session or register for the topic they are interested in working on.

      In this class, you will learn the ways of why and how online businesses have succeeded for many years. This course will teach you how to find the perfect consumer base, the ideal loyal customers that would keep coming back day after day and year after year.       Leading in a team-based environment requires a combination of skills. Leadership: Building Self-Empowered Teams is a customized course that is designed to address the individualized needs for each client organization. In this course participants learn skills that assist in increasing self-awareness and personal effectiveness and learn self-leadership by applying the Ten Characteristics of Self-Empowerment.

      Mastering Public Speaking

      Speaking to an audience can be very stressful and frightening. The ability to speak in public is a skill that needs to be developed and sharpened. Whether we are at a job interview for the dream job, networking, leading a short or long presentation or speaking in a classroom, communicating clearly leaves the best impression. In this class you will learn to captivate and engage your audience, cope with your nerves, deliver your message with clarity and confidence, use verbal and nonverbal communication effectively, and walk away with extra tips to break those public speaking barriers.

By the end of the course, you will be able to launch a podcast in directories like Apple and Spotify while delivering a clear and concise message to your audience.

      Resiliency: Successfully Navigating the Waves of Change

      Everyone looks at change differently. Some view it as positive and necessary; others view it as a problem. A change can be any business, career-related or personal experience requiring a significant change in a person's performance or attitude and the events and feelings he or she experiences during the change process. This course will help participants identify more concretely with the concepts of change and provide tools for developing resiliency for managing the continuous changes that occur on a daily basis in today's modern business culture.

      Upon Completion of this course participants will be able to:
         •   State the elements that drive organizations to change.
         •   Identify the stages that individuals experience during the change process.
         •   Develop strategies to develop the resiliency needed to effectively manage themselves and others through continuous changes.

      Self-Empowerment for Leadership

      As a high-powered business leader, it is your job to empower the team members in your organization. However, when you're at the top, where the buck stops, there's nobody who is going to take on the job to empower you, so it's your job to empower yourself. This customized program provides a clear overview of the behaviors an effective leader needs to master and emulate in attaining self-empowerment for business and organizational success. This program is designed for business owners, managers and middle to senior-level executives.

      Upon Completion of this course participants will be able to:
         •   Understand and describe the characteristics of an effective leader.
         •   Understand the difference between: a boss and a leader; a leader and a tyrant; a manager and a leader.
         •   Describe the types of power bestowed upon individuals and how they are perceived in society and organizations.
         •   Understand the behaviors associated with the Ten Characteristics of Self-Empowerment as presented in the Resiliency Hourglass Model and how to develop the behavioral skills associated with each.
         •   Learn and practice specific self-empowering behaviors such as effective communications skills, listening, assertiveness, conflict management and team building.
         •   Determine which areas he or she needs development in for their professional self-empowerment and create action plans for the development of these skills and characteristics.

      Self-Publishing Master Class

      Self-publishing can prove to be both emotionally satisfying and financially lucrative. The art of bringing your ideas from conception to fruition often requires the guidance of an expert. During our four-hour workshop, you will receive the guidance needed to enter the self-publishing world. The various aspects of this course include the following: exploring the self-publishing landscape, determining a budget, identifying your target audience, and understanding how to reach them, establishing and growing your social media presence, the editing process, the lure of an impressive and unique cover, the graphic requirements of the book, you: “The Brand,” selling your book.

      The Basics of Infographics

      Boost your career by learning how to visually present data in a clear, effective manner. In this infographics course, students will explore approaches and concepts in technical illustration and infographics. Working with a skilled illustrator, students will learn methods for creating instructional illustrations that seamlessly communicate messages to diverse audiences.

      The Brand of You!

      In this interactive workshop participants will learn about the values and benefits of having a professional, personal brand, including the steps to creating their own unique brand.
