    Computer Basics

    For those who know nothing about computers. This introduction to computer classes can help you ease your frustrations. You will learn how to operate a computer with confidence.

    Intro to Word and Excel

    Microsoft Word and Excel are productive programs used in almost every business, school, and home. Master the basics and highlights of these two powerful tools and use them confidently at home or on the job. Students are encouraged to enroll in more advanced courses.

    Intermediate Word and Excel

    Many people use Excel and Word at home or at work, but many are not utilizing all its benefits. This quick course is designed to help you maximize productivity in your daily workflow, by learning some essential, intermediate Excel and word functions. Students will learn how to create basic formulas, create tables, group, sort, and filter data, use VLOOKUP, and create pivot tables. Microsoft Word Intermediate will teach you how to create complex documents by adding components such as, customized lists, tables, charts, and graphics.
    Please note: this class is not designed to prepare the student for certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist.

    Advanced Excel

    Microsoft Excel is a very powerful analytical tool. Learn to utilize this program’s functions and capabilities on a maximized level. Become skilled in the use of advanced features such as importing external data, advanced filters, and data tables, and validating and consolidating data.

    PowerPoint

    This class will teach you how to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create interactive presentations containing text, art, animation, and audio and video elements. Starting with the basics, you will discover how to work with the PowerPoint 2016 interface and to design your slides. You will also learn to add images, audio, and video for engaging slides and to create amazing advanced animation effects.

    QuickBooks Beginner

    Become a QuickBooks Certified User with Hudson County Community College! This two-part national certification program benefits bookkeepers, accountants, and financial professionals by giving those with no prior QuickBooks experience a deeper understanding of this industry standard software. Prior knowledge of accounting principles required. Students will qualify to take the certification exam after part II is completed. Book is sold separately.
    In Part I, students explore the basics of QuickBooks including creating companies, working with vendors and customers, banking, and customization.

    Part II covers inventory, payroll, and the accounting cycle.
    Note: Students who have significant prior experience with QuickBooks are encouraged to enroll directly in the advanced certification class. Students will be ready to take the QuickBooks certification exam after completing Part II. Certification fee is included.
