    Introduction to Word and Excel

    Microsoft Word and Excel are productive programs used in almost every business, school, and home. Master the basics and highlights of these two powerful tools and use them confidently at home or on the job. Students are encouraged to enroll in more advanced courses.

    Intermediate Excel

    Many people use Excel at home or at work, but many are not utilizing all its benefits. This quick course is designed to help you maximize productivity by learning some essential, intermediate Excel functions. Students will learn how to create basic formulas, create tables, group, sort, and filter data, use VLOOKUP, and create pivot tables. Please note: this class is not designed to prepare the student for certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist.

    QuickBooks 2018 Certification Program

    Become a QuickBooks Certified User with Hudson County Community College! This two-part national certification program benefits bookkeepers, accountants, and financial professionals by giving those with no prior QuickBooks experience a deeper understanding of this industry standard software. Prior knowledge of accounting principles required. Students will qualify to take the certification exam after part II is completed. Book is sold separately.

    Accounting Principles
    Learn a basic understanding of accounting principles, concepts, procedures and how they relate to an accounting career and accounting programs. At the end of the course, students will be able to identify types of accounts, journals, ledgers and accounts. The accounting cycle, account equation, compound entries, financial statements, and debits and credits will also be reviewed. This course is part of the QuickBooks Certification Program and a prerequisite for the QuickBooks Beginners course.

    Part 2 (Advanced)
    Part II covers inventory, payroll, and the accounting cycle. Note: Students who have significant prior experience with QuickBooks are encouraged to enroll directly in the advanced certification class.
