      Our professional development courses are designed to prepare students for the types of future jobs that await them by both addressing market needs and arming students with educations that provide them flexibility in a workforce that is constantly changing.


      Intro to Word and Excel

      Many people use Excel and Word at home or at work, but many are not utilizing all its benefits. This quick course is designed to help you maximize productivity in your daily workflow, by learning some essential, intermediate Excel and word functions. Students will learn how to create basic formulas, create tables, group, sort, and filter data, use VLOOKUP, and create pivot tables. Microsoft Word Intermediate will teach you how to create complex documents by adding components such as, customized lists, tables, charts, and graphics. Please note: this class is not designed to prepare the student for certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist.

      Live Webinar: Excel Tips & Tricks

      In this workshop, students will learn some essential Excel functions that can be useful as you work with the program daily. Some of the topics that will be covered include making AutoCorrect work for you by changing text as you type, working with multiple sheets or workbooks, easily replacing or adding text to multiple cells, protecting your workbook from unwanted access or accidental modification, and much more. The workshop is designed for users at any skill level, but a basic understanding of Excel is recommended for all attendees.

      Microsoft Excel Basics

      Explore the Excel ribbon, learn how to move around the workbook, and use Excel’s autofill features. Learn to use basic mathematical formulas and the Sum, Count, Min, Max, and Average functions. Create a basic worksheet with a graph and enhance the graph. Use Conditional Formatting. Briefly review header and footer functions as well as printing features (scaling, two-sided, printing formulas, etc.)

      Review various layouts for slides. Practice using various slides adding text, shapes, and graphics. Create a slide with a hyperlink. Learn to automate slides and use timing.       PowerPoint

      This class will teach you how to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create interactive presentations containing text, art, animation, and audio and video elements. Starting with the basics, you will discover how to work with the PowerPoint 2016 interface and to design your slides. You will also learn to add images, audio, and video for engaging slides and to create amazing advanced animation effects.

      Prezi Training! A new platform for making presentations

      Prezi is an online platform that allows users to create a visually stunning presentation that blows a simple slide presentation out of the water. During this course, you will learn the basics of creating a Prezi presentation, and also get tips along the way in order to make your presentations effective.

      QuickBooks Advanced

      Become a QuickBooks Certified User with Hudson County Community College! This two-part national certification program benefits bookkeepers, accountants, and financial professionals by giving those with no prior QuickBooks experience a deeper understanding of this industry standard software. Prior knowledge of accounting principles required. Students will qualify to take the certification exam after part II is completed. Book is sold separately.
