      Creative Writing for HS Students

This course will offer students the opportunity to get creative with language and have the freedom to choose their own writing project: A slam poetry reading, a collection of flash fiction, a fantasy story, or anything in between!

The students will discuss and explore different types of literature they like to read, why they like this type of literature, and how they would like to develop their own writing. They will discuss questions such as "What makes something a good work of creative writing?" and "How can I improve my own writing using the ideas discussed in class?"

This course hopes to develop students' creativity and own sense of writing style while still enabling them to consider feedback and different perspectives. In this course, students will use and develop the writing skills they learned in school but with more freedom, flexibility, and fun!
