    Interviewing for your 1st Summer Job

    Have you ever felt nervous or under-prepared for an interview? This three week course will provide the basics in resume writing, interview preparation, and will culminate in a mock interview. Test interview your skills in a supportive classroom prior to interviewing for your 1st summer job.
    Dates: Mondays - June 3, 10, & 17, 2019

    SAT Test Prep

    Students will develop test-taking skills and improve their SAT scores with these two five-week inten-sive SAT Math and intensive SAT Language Arts test preparation programs. Pre and post tests will be used to measure progress. Additional test taking tips will be provided, along with test samples from actual SAT exams.
    Note: Students will need to purchase the College Board SAT textbook. Other materials may also be required. A list of items will be included at the time of registration.

    Famous Women in History:
    Reflection & Expression Through Doll Making with Angel Hugs 4 All

    Join Angel Hugs 4 All, Continuing Education, and the Office of Student Activities for this special family workshop in celebration of Women’s History Month. In this hands-on crafting class students will learn how to create dolls that represent their favorite women in history, including their own personal heroes. The instructor will give a brief lecture about Women’s History Month, which will include bios of some trailblazing women. Students will learn how to reflect on and express their thoughts and feelings through the creative process of doll making. Some famous dolls that can be made include Frida Kahlo, Malala Yousafzai, Maya Angelou, Amelia Earhart, and more. Students are encouraged to bring their own images of women they would like to celebrate. All materials are included.

    SUMMER YOUTH

    Both middle school and high school students experience a variety of engaging and enriching programs at Continuing Education’s Summer Youth & Teen Program. Our unique one- and two-week, hands-on programs are offered in partnership with the College’s Division of Academic Affairs, Culinary Arts Institute, and Speranza Theatre Company. Programs emphasize self-discovery, cognitive reasoning, and cooperative thinking using a hands-on approach. Choose from any of our Culinary Arts programs, SAT Test Prep classes, and Theater offerings.

    BOOK & ART FAIR

    HCCC invites the Hudson County community to a free Book and Art Fair on Saturday, July 13, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

    As summer winds down, fairs are an ideal way for families to enjoy free outdoor entertainment and activities, and to connect more with their community. HCCC’s Summer Book and Art Fair, held in our Culinary Plaza Park in Journal Square, is a family-oriented event that includes fun arts-and-crafts, workshops, shopping, food, entertainment, and giveaways. Attendees are able to purchase new and used books, shop local vendors’ wares, and participate in book readings and plenty of activities for children.
