    What is the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program?

    For over 50 years, the EOF program has provided Hudson County Community College students with academic and financial support to assist in the journey towards an Associate Degree. Created by a New Jersey statute in 1968, the EOF program has been a student success model that emphasizes on the three key aspect of a successful college student: personal, academics, and social. The proven comprehensive success model is geared toward students who:

    • Have the potential to do college level work
    • Were academically under-prepared in high school
    • Have a history of financial disadvantage

    • Comprehensive six week summer orientation for first year college students
    • Personal, Academic, and Career Advisement
    • Academic support through tutoring and supplemental instruction

    • Additional financial aid assistance each semester
    • Leadership activities through the Alliance of Educational Opportunity Fund Students of New Jersey (AESNJ)

    You may qualify to be part of the OF Program

    To be considered for the program you must:

    • Have been a resident of New Jersey for at least one year
    • Be a full-time student (12 credit hours) from an educationally and/or economically disadvantaged background
    • Meet the financial eligibility requirements as defined by the State of New Jersey
    • Complete the https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa and provide income documentation as needed to verify income eligibility
    • Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 (if you are a current HCCC student)
    • NJ Dreamers/non-citizens should fill out the NJ Alternative Application instead of the FAFSA. https://www.hesaa.org/pages/njalternativeapplication.aspx
    • If you are an English as a Second Language student, you must be registered in Level IV or higher
    • Complete the EOF interest form
