This Virtual Commencement Celebration featured speeches from HCCC’s President Dr. Chris Reber, the May 2020 and December 2020 Valedictorians, and keynote speaker, Past PTK International President, James Elliott! Speeches are followed by customized slides for each graduate and the announcement of our graduates. This ceremony recognized the graduates of our 2019-2020 academic year and our Fall 2020 graduation applicants.
If you have NOT filled out and submitted your Graduation Application, please do so as soon as possible. The Graduation Application can be found HERE.
It is required that you submit the free Graduation Application. This document collects the name that you wish to be displayed on your diploma and confirms your degree program.

Fall 2020, Summer II 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Summer I, and Summer II 2020 Graduates: Your diplomas are available for pick up at the Journal Square Campus A Building, 70 Sip Avenue, Jersey City. The building is open Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Be mindful that the college is closed from December 19 – January 4. Please note that all HCCC accounts must be settled before you can receive your diploma, including any financial charges or library holds. Please wear your mask and bring your State ID. You can pick it up or request to have it mailed. Diplomas that are mailed may take a minimum of 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Information regarding this semester’s Commencement ceremony, cap and gowns, and celebratory events will be communicated starting March 2021. It is extremely important that Spring 2021 graduates complete the Graduation Application which can be found HERE. Your completed Graduation Application, or any questions about the application, can be emailed to Assistant Registrar Upasana Sethi-Pagan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spring 2021 Graduates: Information related to obtaining your FREE cap and gown set will be shared with you via HCCC email in March 2021. You will have the ability to have your cap and gown set mailed to your home or picked up from the Journal Square Campus.
Summer II 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Summer I, and Summer II 2020 Graduates: If you did not order and receive your free cap and gown set, please email email@example.com.

Hudson County Community College’s Communications Department needs your help in identifying unique and exceptional graduate student stories to use in publicity for the upcoming Commencement ceremony as well as future marketing materials.
HCCC’s Communications Department will be pitching these stories to media during the Commencement season and would be pleased to hear from students willing to be interviewed. Some past noteworthy stories covered by media included students who:
• Were age 50 or older while studying at HCCC
• Had served in the military
• Had relatives on HCCC staff or of HCCC alumni
• Were family members graduating together
• “Beat the odds” (earned a degree despite an obstacle, disability, etc.)
