      December 2020 Commencement Ceremony Update
As you are aware, HCCC planned to hold an in-person December Commencement at NJPAC in Newark as a rescheduled option to our May 2020 Commencement Ceremony that had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. I must now share that, with everyone's safety in mind – and due to the continuing indoor building limitations and necessity for social distancing – we have made the difficult decision to transition December's Commencement to a Virtual Commencement Ceremony. This Virtual Ceremony will honor all 2019-20 graduates as well as December 2020 graduates and will still be held on Thursday, December 10 at 12:00 noon. Further, we now plan to hold an in-person Commencement Ceremony at Red Bull Arena in May 2021, where we will honor all graduates from the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years. We will share the date with you as soon as possible.

Although we will not be able to celebrate in person this fall, our HCCC community will come together to ensure that our Virtual Commencement Ceremony remains an engaging and special occasion. The Ceremony will feature speeches and the conferral of degrees, which will include the name of each graduate to be read aloud and displayed during the ceremony. Further, this ceremony can be attended and shared with all of your loved ones, near and far. Graduates, please continue to check your HCCC email, as messages from graduationevents@hccc.edu will include surveys for feedback and information about upcoming events and celebrations. These will include graduate portrait appointments, honor society inductions, a Lavender Graduation, and, for the first time at HCCC, a Kente Graduation. You will receive more information in the coming weeks about how to order your regalia (cap, gown, stole, tassel), which will be provided at no cost to graduates.

      Diploma Distribution
The diplomas for our Spring 2020 and Summer I 2020 graduates are now available for pick up at the Journal Square Campus A Building, 70 Sip Avenue, Jersey City. If you are unable to pick up your diploma, please email usethi-pagan@hccc.edu with your mailing address, and your diploma and transcripts will be mailed. Graduates can visit the Journal Square Campus from Monday-Fridays from 9:00am to 5:00pm to pick up their diplomas. Please note that all HCCC accounts must be settled before you can receive your diploma, including any financial charges or library holds. Please wear your mask and bring your State ID. Please note that HCCC will be providing two free transcripts to Spring 2020, Summer I and Summer II 2020 graduates, which will be included with your diploma via pick up or mail. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any other questions or concerns at registrar@hccc.edu.

      Graduation Celebration Packages
All graduating students of the Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Summer I 2020, and Summer II 2020 graduates received a Graduation Celebration Package which included their cap and tassel, HCCC Alum shirt, letter of congratulations from HCCC President Dr. Chris Reber and their Academic Associate Deans, along with other celebratory items. If you are part of these graduating classes and did not receive your Graduation Celebration Package, please email graduationevents@hccc.edu.

Graduation Student Regalia (Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Stole)
Graduating students received their cap and tassel in their Graduation Celebration Package. We are currently working on the process by which to obtain your gown and HCCC stole. More information to follow on this. Keep in mind that there will be no cost to graduating students for your first regalia set (gown, cap, tassel, and stole).
