Hudson County Community College and Hudson Kitchen to Present 'Food Business Bootcamp'

October 20, 2017, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College’s (HCCC) Department of Community Education, in partnership with Hudson Kitchen, will hold “Food Business Bootcamp” on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The course, which has been specially designed for those who presently own or who wish to start a food business, will take place at the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute, located at 161 Newkirk Avenue on the College’s Journal Square Campus in Jersey City – just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Transportation Center.

The full-day session will cover a number of topics related to operating a culinary business, including food trends, business plan basics, food safety, food product concept development, food law, marketing a food business, pricing food products for profitability, food business operations, and funding a food business. Those who are thinking about starting a food business as well as startup and established owners of specialty food companies, food trucks, bakeries, restaurants, and catering companies are encouraged to attend the course.

Hudson Kitchen is a culinary incubator based in northern New Jersey, which helps area food entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses with minimal risk. Hudson Kitchen offers food entrepreneurs access to culinary business workshops, networking events, and support services.  

Hudson Kitchen was founded in 2015 by former business development executive, Djenaba Johnson-Jones. After facing countless obstacles with creating her own food business, Djenaba decided to create Hudson Kitchen as a turnkey service to help other culinary entrepreneurs avoid hurdles, attain access to industry experts, grow within a supportive community, and make their culinary dreams come true.
