JERSEY CITY, N.J. / February 14, 2018 – In part of the month long celebration of Black History Month, Hudson County Community College’s Office of Student Activities

The film is about New Jersey-born artist, activist, and Professor Ben Jones who has used his art to bring awareness to the plight of people throughout the world, with a strong concentration on the struggles of the people of Cuba. Born in 1940 in the City of Paterson, Ben’s consciousness began to develop early as a Social Activist. Over the years, his artwork began to broaden, bringing awareness to environmental disasters such as the BP oil spill. Join us as we watch this documentary, which serves as an example of what it means to represent something greater than oneself.

Admission is free. The film will be screened on Thursday, February 15 at 3 p.m. in the Student Lounge in the Pathside Building, 25 Journal Square, Jersey City, NJ. For more information contact the Office of Student Activities at (201) 360 – 4195 or email osa@live.hccc.edu .
