Biography

Patrizia Barroero is the Associate Director of ESL and Academic Foundations English at Hudson County Community College. She has been working at HCCC as a full-time administrator in different capacities for the past five years and as an ESL and Humanities adjunct professor for the past ten. During her tenure, she has focused on helping students succeed by teaching and overseeing programs such as Learning Communities, Transitional Programs, and Accelerated Summer Bridge and Enrichment courses.

Patrizia is also an adjunct professor of Educational Psychology at Kean University, a Certified Meditation Teacher, and a doctoral student at Saint Peter's University. While working on her doctoral dissertation, she has been studying the impact of basic meditation practices in higher education, particularly in relation to stress relief, resilience, and academic success. She holds free meditation workshops at HCCC twice a week that are free to HCCC faculty, students, and staff. For more information about these workshops, please click here
