Larry coordinates, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates student recruitment
programs for schools and the business community to promote the College and its programs,
attract students and increase enrollment, and to emphasize the College’s commitment
to providing educational opportunities to a diverse and multi-cultural community.
He also coordinates recruitment initiatives for specialized programs.
Larry Anderson worked for the nation’s largest textile workers union in New York for
12 years. Larry also worked for a non-profit organization in New Jersey, advocating
for parents with children with behavioral challenges, where he became the first Afro-American
and male to hold the title of Coordinator in the state in 12 years. After being passed
up for the executive director role several times due to his lack of College degrees,
he decided that it was time to further his education. He started attending HCCC in
the Fall of 2015 as a part time student, then switched to full time to speed up the
process. Larry graduated with the class of 2019 with his associate's degree in Liberal
Arts. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in sociology from New Jersey City University
in and had the honor of walking alongside his son.
