Lori M. Byrd

Dr. Byrd has more than 20 years of experience in education. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Program and participates in the didactic component of the fundamentals and medical-surgical nursing courses. Dr. Byrd is an active member of numerous Hudson County Community College and Nursing Program committees.

Dr. Byrd is dedicated to the success of the Nursing Program’s diverse student body. She incorporates a variety of teaching strategies, including polling, gaming and case studies to meet students’ learning needs.

Prior to coming to HCCC, Dr. Byrd served in various positions within the nursing profession. She participates in The Association of College University Educators (ACUE) Cohort and serves as a resource for faculty and staff. She presented “Mentoring and Student Success” at the NLN Summit in Las Vegas with two colleagues. Dr. Byrd co-authored “Clickers in the Classroom” published by the online journal, Advance for Nurses.
