May 22, 2018 / Jersey City, NJ - Speaking to an audience can be stressful and frightening, but it’s a valuable skill that needs to be developed and sharpened. Effective public speaking helps people win over crowds, motivate and inform individuals and groups, and increase opportunities in job interviews, networking situations, and classroom and business presentations.

Hudson County Community College will hold a Public Speaking class on Wednesdays, July 11 and 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Gabert Library (71 Sip Avenue) of the College’s Journal Square Campus. Space is limited, and the cost is $60 per person.

Communicating clearly helps leave the best impression and demonstrates confidence and leadership. Individuals who take this class will learn how to captivate and engage an audience, cope with nervousness, deliver messages with clarity and confidence, and use verbal and nonverbal communication effectively. There will also be tips on breaking public speaking barriers.
