Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Accessibility Services
As the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Accessibility Services, Danielle
serves as the primary compliance and content expert for all accessibility matters
at Hudson County Community College. With extensive knowledge of the Americans with
Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974 and
other disability-related laws, she works collaboratively with various departments
and programs to support the college’s initiative in reducing systemic barriers and
promoting diversity, equity and inclusivity for all members of the campus community.
Danielle has over ten years of direct experience in accessibility services in higher
education. She also has experience in academic advisement and administration. She
has a broad spectrum of professional experience in developing programs and services
that support college students with disabilities in achieving success. Her prior experience
includes developing a peer-based mentorship program to support neurodiverse students
as they transition from the secondary to post-secondary setting. She previously developed
campus compliance training for faculty and staff and disability allyship training
to foster an inclusive campus community. She is dedicated to advocating, creating
opportunities, and empowering individuals with disabilities throughout their educational
and professional journey at HCCC. In addition to serving in her role at HCCC, Danielle
also teaches with the Department of Psychology at the College of Staten Island, City
University of New York.
