Dr. Mahmood has more than 15 years of teaching and industrial experience. A full-time faculty member who began teaching at HCCC in 2012, he has assisted in the development of curriculum for three credit courses and associated labs for Chemistry and Physics. He has good communication and interpersonal skills and is an active problem solver and team player. Dr. Mahmood previously held positions at University of Rhode Island, Long Island University, Middlesex County College, and Essex County College.
A member of the American Chemical Society and the American Society of Mass Spectroscopy,
Dr. Mahmood has worked as a Research Scientist and Engineer in pharmaceutical, biotechnology,
analytical instrumentation, chemical/petro-chemical process, material sciences, and
semiconductor and electronics industries.
Dr. Mahmood has started the construction management program at HCCC and hence the founder of it.
He is also recipient of Johnston Communications Awards for Excellence in Teaching 2018-2019
Dr. Mahmood has received NSF Advanced Technological Education grant of $300 K for 2021 - 2024
