Biography

Josh works as an academic counselor with the Hudson Scholars program, a program dedicated to ensuring that students have a much more personalized experience with their counselors. He meets with students regularly and discusses their major, career path, classes, and more -- anything that will allow them to be in an environment conducive to success while at HCCC. Josh also is involved with various committees, both internal to the Hudson Scholars Program and external involving other departments on campus. Internally, this includes event planning, creating communications to send out, and also supervising our Lead Scholar work study students. Externally, he is a part of the Student Affairs Committee and Fashion Show committee.

Josh is the first in his family to receive a Masters degree. While relatively new to the Higher Education scene (having graduated in 2022), he has been able to work in several different capacities as a student and as a professional. During his undergraduate studies, he worked with the Orientation Leader program, serving in that capacity for 3 years. He became one of the senior Orientation Leaders, also serving as a member of the hiring committee for future Orientation Leaders. During his graduate studies, he served as a Graduate Assistant to Dr. Amy Aiello, Associate Dean for Student Success and Strategic Partnerships at Montclair State, and to Dr. Carlos McCray, Professor in the Educational Leadership department at Montclair State. In this role, he was able to create social media plans for the College of Education and Human Services, and also provide research support for Dr. McCray's classes. It was after these experiences, and several more, when Josh graduated and started working with HCCC full time.
