Senior Instructional Designer
Callie Martin is the Senior Instructional Designer at the Center for Online Learning. After earning graduate degrees in Instructional Technology and Information Sciences, Callie moved from Mississippi to New Jersey in 2020 to join HCCC. She has spent over a decade in higher education, specializing in the development of online and hybrid courses.
In her role as Senior Instructional Designer, Callie spearheads the development of innovative online and hybrid learning experiences. She works closely with the Executive Director to ensure high-quality course development and supervises a talented team of Instructional Technologists. Her work also involves empowering faculty with the latest instructional technologies and best practices in online teaching. She collaborates with faculty and administrative staff across various departments, with a focus on the English, Humanities/Social Sciences, and Nursing/Health Sciences Divisions. Callie is passionate about enhancing educational accessibility and champions the principles of Universal Design for Learning, ensuring every student benefits from an inclusive learning environment.
Callie is dedicated to fostering an educational environment that is innovative, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of students and faculty. She believes in the power of technology to transform teaching and learning, making it more engaging and accessible.
Outside of her professional life, Callie is an avid reader, podcast listener, and horror film enthusiast. She enjoys creating unique works of art from upcycled puzzle pieces while listening to a good book. She loves spending time with her fiancé and their silly cats, Sadie and Sampson.
