Biography
Professor McRae has over 25 years of experience in accounting and is a Certified Public
Accountant. He has worked as the controller of a leading real estate development company
with full responsibility for accounting processes and procedures, including the preparation
of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)-based financial statements. Professor
McRae also worked as an auditor at leading insurance companies and has experience
in financial, managerial, and tax accounting. He owned and operated a franchised tax
preparation business. In 2013, after teaching at Passaic County Community College
as an adjunct professor for a few years, he turned to teaching full-time.
Professor McRae is an advisor for the Business and Accounting Club, advisory board
member to Academic Support Services, to the Business, Culinary Arts and Hospitality
Management division, and Alumni Association. He is a member of the Cyclical program
review committee for hospitality management, and previously served as secretary to
the Development and Planning Committee of the All College Council of HCCC. In 2016,
he won the Johnston Award for excellence in teaching.
Professor McRae is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Teachers
of Accounting at Two Year Colleges.
