Biography

Sovi is an instructor of English at the college. She fosters an inclusive environment that embraces diverse perspectives and empowers students to express themselves confidently. Through lively discussions and lessons that develop critical thinking and writing proficiency, she sparks a passion for lifelong learning while fostering mutual respect in her classroom.

Sovi has taught English at the college since 2014. Driven by her Hudson County roots, her primary goal is her students' success. She employs innovative teaching methods across her courses, aiming to nurture her students' academic growth with a dynamic approach. Her classroom benefits from diverse pedagogical expertise, as she has taught preschool to middle school in public and private elementary schools. Additionally, Sovi's CELTA certification from Cambridge University and her experience teaching ESL in New York City have further enhanced her instructional skills. Beyond academia, Sovi's interests extend to entrepreneurial ventures, including small business endeavors and innovative contributions to emerging media projects. Her poems, short stories, and non-fiction work have been published in various publications.
