Biography
Royal is the Admissions Recruiter at HCCC. She implements student recruitment initiatives, develops short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives, and coordinates recruitment activities in support of the College's strategic enrollment initiatives. Additionally, Royal is also an instructor for Business and Accounting for the School of Business, Culinary Arts, and Hospitality Management.
A native of Jersey City, Royal started at HCCC as a student and is now one of the Admissions Recruiter and an instructor for Business and Accounting. After graduating from HCCC, she went on to earn her bachelor's in accounting at New Jersey City University and has earned two master's degrees from Saint Peter's University in MBA and MS in accounting. A lifelong learner, Royal didn't stop there and is in the process of completing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Rowan University. She hopes that her academic accomplishments will inspire HCCC students to follow in her footsteps. Royal has also worked in banking and taxation as well as a pre-school teacher. An accomplished writer, Royal's first book, Stay Connected to the True Vine, was published in 2017. Royal's second book, She is Pretty Strong, was published in 2022. She also serves as Vice President of HCCC's Alumni Association and on the College's African-American Outreach Committee. Royal is a certified yoga instructor and hosts yoga sessions as well as facilitating Prayer and Bible study for the college community. Royal is proud to be a longtime member of the HCCC family and she is happy to say that Hudson is truly home.
