Professor Samuelsen, who grew up in the New York City area, has been a resident of Jersey City for almost twenty years. She has been teaching at HCCC since 2015, and her goal as an instructor is to provide an exceptional, quality classroom experience for students.
Professor Samuelsen is a member of the Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges of New Jersey (MATYCNJ) and is involved in curriculum development at HCCC. She has achieved certification in Effective College Instruction, focusing on establishing a productive learning environment, using active learning techniques, promoting higher order thinking, and assessing to inform instruction and promote learning.
