Academic Counselor, Hudson Scholars

Hannah works as a Hudson Scholars Academic Counselor, where she utilizes an anti-deficit
mindset to guide students through their academic journeys, empowering them to navigate
challenges and establish a toolkit for success in their academic, professional, and
personal endeavors.
Hannah is a new professional in higher education, with a love for community colleges.
She completed her master's degree at Michigan State University, where she worked as
a graduate assistant in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, aiding in the
operations of the Women's Student Services office. Her other work at the institution
included supporting the TRIO SSS office, career advising, research for senior leadership,
and designing a summer bridge program for first generation STEM students. She is a
directorate board member of the Commission for Two Year Colleges in the American College
Personal Association (ACPA), where she collaborates with other community college professionals
to represent the unique needs of two-year colleges within ACPA. Her interests and
passions in higher education center around serving nontraditional students, focusing
on the value of their unique lived experiences using an asset-based and community
cultural wealth centered approach.
