On April 5th 2024 Dr. Azhar Mahmood Coordinator for the Construction Management program and Larry Anderson from Enrollment Services at HCCC visited New Jersey City University and gave a presentation to the cohort of NJ Youth Corps about careers in construction industry.

New Jersey Youth Corps-Jersey City, located at New Jersey City University since 1988, aims to restore young adults' dignity through academic instruction and community service. As one of the largest youth service and conservation corps in the U.S., it offers year-round voluntary programs for young adults aged 16-25. Guided by mentors, youth crews undertake diverse community projects and receive a stipend during their tenure.

It was a great and successful event. Students enjoyed it. A total of 15 students attended the event and 9 of them enrolled into HCCC Construction Management program after the presentation.  

Invenergy is an American based multinational power generation development and operations company. The company develops, builds, owns and operates power generation and energy storage projects in the Americas, Europe and Asia, including wind, solar, and natural gas power generation and energy storage facilities. It is North America's largest privately held renewable power generation company.

Invenergy has come to NJ to explore the potential of wind farming as a means of renewable clean energy. For this purpose, the company is building working relationships with different local institutions for a trained workforce. The Construction Management program at HCCC is selected as a leading program in this regard for the company’s civil and construction work.

The two representatives of the company Sarah Dougherty and Lia Yoo came to HCCC on December 6, 2023. The objective was to educate students regarding potential opportunities down the way in the field of wind farming and visit the facility/lab of construction management program.
