Hudson County Community College to Host FAFSA Application Workshop

Free February 13 event will provide assistance to prospective students in time for applying for free-tuition grant.

 

February 7, 2019, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Office of Financial Aid has scheduled special workshops on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The workshops have been timed to allow students to meet the February 15, 2019 deadline for applying for the free-tuition Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG).

The FAFSA is a must for those who wish to be considered for CCOG as well as the NJ State Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) Award, Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Grant, Governor’s Urban Scholarship, New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship (NJ STARS), and Governor’s Industry Vocations Scholarship (NJ-GIVS). The FAFSA, including the additional New Jersey Questions, must be completed and received by the Federal processor by the New Jersey State deadlines.

At the FAFSA workshops, the experts from the HCCC Office of Financial Aid will show how to set up a FSA ID and how to complete the FAFSA. They will also provide information on the various grants, scholarships, and loans that are available, and will address any questions or concerns.

The workshop will take place on February 13 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Office of Financial Aid on the Journal Square Campus in Jersey City – 70 Sip Avenue - Second Floor.
