February 14, 2019, Jersey City, NJ – Completing a semester of college sooner gives students a jumpstart on attaining their academic and career goals by getting them closer to graduation faster.
Hudson County Community College (HCCC) is still accepting registration for the 12-week “Quick Term” semester, which runs February 14 through May 20, 2019. Classes will be held at the Journal Square and North Hudson campuses.
There are 33 courses across a variety of subject areas offered in the HCCC “Quick Term” semester, including Business, Mathematics, ESL, Language Arts, Criminal Justice, History, Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
The College’s “Quick Term” courses for Spring 2019 include: Human Biology; Anatomy and Physiology I & II; College Chemistry I & II; Introduction to Computers and Computing; College Student Success; Basic Writing II & III; College Composition I & II; Speech; Introduction to ESL Writing; ESL Writing II; Introduction to Grammar for ESL; Grammar for ESL Writing II; ESL Reading II; ESL Academic Discussion II; History of Western Civilization I; Cultures and Values; Basic Algebra Workshop; Basic Mathematics; Basic Algebra; College Algebra; Pre-Calculus; Introduction to Psychology; Lifespan Development; Basic Reading II & III; Principles of Sociology; and Fundamentals of Nursing.
Hudson County Community College offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs, including signature Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management, Nursing, English as a Second Language (ESL), Fine and Performing Arts, and STEM.
The HCCC Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management program was ranked number six in the U.S. by Best Choice Schools. Over 94% of HCCC Nursing program graduates passed the NCLEX first time out, placing the program’s graduates in the top tier of two- and four-year nursing programs nationwide. In 2017, the Equality of Opportunity Project ranked HCCC in the top 5% of 2,200 higher education institutions for social mobility.
Tuition at HCCC is just a fraction of the cost at four-year colleges. The College has one of the most effective Financial Aid programs in New Jersey. Nearly 80% of HCCC students receive scholarships or financial assistance. HCCC credits transfer easily to four-year colleges and universities, as the College has agreements and partnerships with many in- and out-of-state colleges and universities, including New Jersey City University, Saint Peter’s University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Kean University and Rutgers University-Newark.
