Hudson County Community College Offers Two Noncredit Courses at Goodwill® NYNJ in Harrison this Spring

JERSEY CITY, N.J. / February 19, 2016 – Hudson County Community College’s Community Education Department is expanding its reach into the community by offering two very useful noncredit courses at Goodwill® Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ, Inc., located at 400 Supor Blvd., Harrison, NJ 07029.

The College has scheduled two sessions for the 16-hour course, “Introduction to Computers with Workplace Applications” – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., April 5th - 28th, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., June 7th - June 30th. The course will provide the basics of computing with a focus on everyday employment applications.

The second course, “Conversational English” will be held Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. for ten weeks – April 13th - June 15th. “Conversational English” is designed to help advanced English speakers in coming together and discussing interesting topics.

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) President Glen Gabert, Ph.D. said the College is offering these courses in partnership with Goodwill NYNJ to make it easier for residents in the western areas of Hudson County to take advantage of HCCC classes.

“We are pleased to be able to work with Goodwill NYNJ in providing courses that will benefit all of our community,” Dr. Gabert said.

“This collaboration with HCCC helps to further our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment to gain independence through the power of work,” remarks Lori Friedman, Senior Vice President for Goodwill NYNJ Northern NJ Division.

The College has scheduled an Open House for Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Goodwill Harrison location on Supor Blvd. Those who register for the HCCC courses at the open house will receive a 10% discount on each course. Payment must be in the form of check or credit card.
