Hudson County Community College Associate Dean Named President of the National Tutoring Association Board of Directors

JERSEY CITY, N.J. / February 27, 2013 - Dr. Pamela Bandyopadhyay, Associate Dean of the Division of Academic Development and Support Services at Hudson County Community College (HCCC), was recently named President of the Board of Directors of the National Tutoring Association (NTA).
A native of India, Dr. Bandyopadhyay earned bachelor and master degrees in Economics from the University of Burdwan (India), and master and doctorate degrees in Business Education from New York University (NY). She began her professional academic career in the United States as an Adjunct Instructor at New Jersey City University and Hudson County Community College. She then began working as Tutorial Coordinator for the HCCC Equal Opportunity Fund Program and the Tutorial Services Department, and served as Director of Tutorial Services at HCCC for ten years.
In 2009, Dr. Bandyopadhyay became Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, ADJ Academic Support Services, and in 2012 she was named Associate Dean of Academic Development and Support Services. In that capacity, she works in concert with the College’s Dean of Arts and Sciences and the Vice President for Academic Affairs to develop short- and long-term initiatives for the College’s Academic Foundations Programs, ESL Program and ADJ Academic Support Services.

The National Tutoring Association is a professional membership organization dedicated to promoting education, specialization and scientific research. It is the largest and oldest professional association dedicated exclusively to tutoring, and represents thousands of tutors in the United States and 13 other countries.
