JERSEY CITY, N.J. / April 1, 2019 – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Foundation’s 17th Annual “Night at the Races” fundraiser on Friday, April 5, 2019, is a win-win for everyone! Those who attend will be able to relax and view the races while enjoying world-class food. Plus, they will possess the knowledge that their attendance at the fundraiser is helping to provide scholarships to deserving HCCC students and advance the College’s growth and development.
The family-friendly evening of fun, food and goodwill is open to all. The trotters’ race will be held indoors at the Meadowlands Race Track, Pegasus East in East Rutherford, NJ beginning at 6 p.m. (post time is 7:15 p.m.). Tickets are $125 each and must be purchased in advance. The ticket price includes admission, general parking, racing program, TV monitors, pari-mutuel windows, guest seating, and an extensive buffet of fresh salads, appetizers, hot entrees, pasta stations, and dessert tables.
This year’s fundraiser coincides with the Meadowlands’ “One Million Penny Giveaway” ($10,000) promotion. Cash prizes will be awarded to randomly drawn winners who complete an entry form in the racing program.
The HCCC Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation providing tax-exempt status to contributors. Established in 1997, the Foundation plays an integral role in the development of HCCC students, the College, and the community. The Foundation generates financial support for the College and its students, developing and awarding needs-based and merit scholarships, providing seed money for faculty programs, assisting incoming students in achieving academic success, providing for the college’s physical growth, and the cultural enrichment of Hudson County residents.
Since its founding, the HCCC Foundation has raised more than $6 million and awarded more than 1,625 scholarships totaling over $2,650,000. The Foundation Art Collection, which was established in 2006, includes over 1,000 works of art – most by nationally and internationally renowned artists.
