Hudson County Community College Announces Tenure for Three Faculty Members

April 13, 2021, Jersey City, NJ – The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Board of Trustees has granted tenure to three faculty members in recognition of their excellence in teaching, scholarly achievement, service to the College and community, and fulfillment of their professional responsibilities.

“We are proud to announce that Eric Adamson, Faisal Aljamal, and Dr. Peter Cronrath will be promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor in the 2021-22 Academic Year,” said HCCC President Dr. Chris Reber. “They possess extraordinary talent, experience, and dedication to teaching, scholarship and service.”

Eric Adamson began teaching English courses at the College as an adjunct instructor in 2015, and in 2016, he accepted the position of full-time tenure-track Instructor. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Brown University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University. Professor Adamson participates in various HCCC committees, including the All College Council Space and Facilities Subcommittee, President’s Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (PACDEI), and National Poetry Month Committee. He is also an advisor to the LGBTQIA+ Club. Professor Adamson is continually looking for ways to engage and motivate students, who love his innovative use of technology. He is also a successful freelance writer, and a published poet.

Faisal Aljamal began teaching at HCCC as an adjunct instructor in 1996, teaching various computer and mathematics classes. He became a full-time tenure-track Instructor of Computer Science in 2016, and he developed and coordinated the HCCC Associate of Science in Cybersecurity program. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Montclair State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from New Jersey City University. Professor Aljamal served on the HCCC Academic Affairs, Curriculum & Instruction, Technology, and Faculty Search and Hiring committees. He is also involved in partnerships with institutions and organizations that provide students with internship and scholarship opportunities such as YearUp, InfoSec Learning Institute, and Saint Peter’s University. Prior to coming to HCCC, Professor Aljamal had a successful, 29-year career as a Software Asset Management Coordinator for Unilever, a Fortune 500 company.

Dr. Peter Cronrath began teaching Business, Management and Marketing courses at HCCC in 2015, and became a full-time instructor in 2016, and a tenure-track Instructor of Business in 2018. He earned a Ph.D. in Management, Leadership and Organization Change, and Master of Philosophy in Management degree from Walden University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Montclair State University, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University. Dr. Cronrath co-authored a grant to install the Bloomberg Finance Lab at HCCC, and serves as a faculty mentor and advisor for the Goldman Sachs Local College Collaborative program, the NJC4 Case Competition (held by Rutgers University), and the Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield Transformational Case Challenge. Dr. Cronrath is the Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee of the All College Council. He was awarded a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Award for Teaching Excellence in 2018.
