Hudson County Community College Announces Plans for 2015 Commencement Exercises

The College will graduate 907 students on May 21; Nicole Sardinas, Director of Nursing Education at Jersey City Medical Center - Barnabas Health, will be the keynote speaker; Joseph Napolitano, Sr. to receive the College's 2015 Heritage Award.

 

April 28, 2015, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) President Glen Gabert, Ph.D. announced that the College will hold its 37th Annual Commencement Exercises on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s Prudential Hall in Newark, NJ. The festivities will begin at 6:00 that evening.

Dr. Gabert said that 907 students are scheduled to receive their degrees that evening.

The keynote speaker will be Nicole Sardinas, DNP(c), MSN, RN, CCRN, Director of Nursing Education at Jersey City Medical Center - Barnabas Health. Ms. Sardinas earned her Associate in Science Degree in Nursing in 2006 at HCCC, through the partnership with Christ Hospital School of Nursing.

The Hudson County Heritage Award recognizes members of the community who have made significant contributions to the College, its students and families. This 2015 award will be presented to Joseph Napolitano, Sr.

The invocation at this year’s event will be led by Sr. Roseann Mazzeo, Executive Director of WomenRising, an organization that assists women and their families in achieving self-sufficiency and enabling them to live safe, fulfilling, and productive lives.
