Make Your First 3-D Video Game! – In this Black Rocket classic, students create an immersive 3-D world, going beyond the limits of traditional video games. They’ll learn the physics of 3-D video games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, control gameplay flow, and storytelling. Recommended for ages 9 to 14. Runs July 9-12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: $199.

Advanced 3-D Video Game with Unity – Young video game designers will take their skills to another level with Unity, an industry-grade design software. They’ll learn level editing, 3-D modeling, intermediate event scripting, and the impact of game play on user experience. Recommended for ages 9 to 14. Runs July 9-12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: $199.

ROBLOX® Makers-Coders- Entrepreneurs! – Young entrepreneurs will discover how to code in the Lua language while playing and designing worlds in ROBLOX, an online universe where one can create almost anything imaginable. The new class combines game design, concepts, coding, and fun, and teaches how to navigate ROBLOX’s fast growing marketplace to publish games. Recommended for ages 9 to 14. Runs July 16-19, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost $199.

Virtual Reality: The Future is Now – Youngsters will embark upon an epic virtual reality adventure, learn the foundations of VR design by creating virtual worlds, exploring simulated environments, and crafting memorable 3D experiences and taking home a VR headset to show off the new worlds they’ve created. VR projects can be viewed on a website or mobile device. Students do not need a mobile device to take the class, but to use the VR headset, a camper will need access to an Android or Apple mobile device. Recommended for ages 9 to 14. Runs July 16-19, 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $199 plus a $19 lab fee for the VR headset.

App.IO: Make Your First Multiplayer App! – The hottest new Apps are IO apps! Individuals who love to play Agar.io or Slither.io will love this class where they will create the next viral web app to share with family and friends! Includes exploring the most popular .IO apps, designing own multiplayer experiences, and learning how to code their own app. Recommended for ages 9 to 14. Runs July 23-26, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: $199.

Code Breakers – Future coders, programmers, and designers will learn coding languages like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS through a series of web projects and design challenges. The course is packed with essentials needed to make the journey to tech superstardom. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Recommended for ages 9 to 14. Runs July 23-26, 1 to 4 p.m. Cost: $199.

Baking Academy – Youngsters will create delectable pies, cookies, muffins, and cakes, learn the basics of cake baking, icing and decorating, piping methods, and other techniques in the acclaimed HCCC Culinary Arts kitchens. The chef/instructor will also provide an introduction to working in a professional kitchen and to a career in the pastry industry. Recommended for ages 9 to 15. Runs August 13-16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $289.

Cooking Academy – Our next great chefs will learn what it takes to make it in the fast-paced and growing culinary and hospitality field, including the ins and outs of working in professional, state-of-the-art kitchen I the College’s Culinary Arts Institute. Activities include learning about food safety, ingredient pairings, menu planning, and more. Students can look forward to preparing savory meals, how to care for tools, and secrets of the trade. Recommended for ages 9 to 15. Runs August 20-23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $289.

Theater: Acting, Playwriting, Stage Production – Students learn how to write, rehearse, and perform a show they create. This program helps young artists develop lifetime skills and explore the art of collaboration through classes in acting, playwriting, improvisation, and production. Guided by a professional director and playwright, students gain an understanding of theatrical confidence and working as a team. Family and friends are invited to attend the Thursday performances. Recommended for ages 7 to 13. First Play: August 20-23; Second Play: August 27-30. Sessions are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: $225 each.

SAT Prep – It’s important for college-bound students to get a jumpstart on the SAT so they may impress college recruiters. This intensive test preparation program shows students how to use basic problem-solving techniques to strengthen their abilities, avoid mistakes, and develop top test-taking skills. Samples from actual SAT exams will be provided. Students must purchase the required SAT book for the first day of class; textbook information and materials will be provided upon registration. Recommended for middle-school and high-school students. SAT Language Prep: July 30 - August 9, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. SAT Math Prep: July 30 – August 9, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Cost is $199 each.
