Dr. Christopher Conzen Appointed Executive Director of New Hudson County Community College Secaucus Center

New HCCC Secaucus Center will begin offering evening and weekend courses at High Tech High School’s Frank J. Gargiulo Campus.
May 20, 2019, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) President Dr. Chris Reber announced that Dr. Christopher Conzen has been named Executive Director of the College’s new Secaucus Center at the Frank J. Gargiulo Campus of Hudson County Schools of Technology (HCST). Dr. Conzen began working in this new position on May 20, 2019.
In this role, Dr. Conzen will provide vision, leadership, and operational management of the College’s Secaucus Center, serving as the primary college liaison between HCCC and HCST. In this capacity, he will identify and maintain clear, early-college pathways for HCST students to pursue at the HCCC Secaucus Center.
Additionally, he will oversee HCCC evening and weekend offerings at the Center, beginning in September 2019, which include first-semester classes for any HCCC major, as well as classes for full degrees in A.A. Liberal Arts (General) and A.S. Business Administration studies. Additional program offerings are anticipated in the future.
Dr. Conzen has more than 15 years of experience in higher education administration and leadership, overseeing academic programs, policies, and initiatives that focused on promoting student growth and achievement. Most recently he served as Assistant Dean for Student Services and Administrative Affairs at Montclair State University. He was also Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Lim College, and Director of Campus Activities and Student Leadership Development at the Eastern Campus of Suffolk County Community College.
Dr. Conzen holds a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Maryland College Park. He was named Community College Professional of the Year by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
“Dr. Conzen will play a critical role in helping the College launch this new center and grow its offerings,” Dr. Reber said. “We are especially pleased because this new location will make it easier for individuals who reside in the western portion of Hudson County – Harrison, Kearny, East Newark, and Secaucus – to pursue studies at Hudson County Community College.
