Hudson County Community College to Host Job Fair on Wednesday, June 5

JERSEY CITY, N.J. / May 29, 2013 - Hudson County Community College’s Center for Business & Industry and its partners — Hudson County/State of New Jersey One-Stop Career Center, Jersey City Employment & Training Program and Jobs4Jersey.com — will host a Spring 2013 Job Fair. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the College’s Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City — just two blocks from the Journal Square PATH Station.

Ana Chapman-McCausland, Executive Director of the College’s Center for Business & Industry (CBI), said more than 30 employers are expected to participate in the Job Fair, which is open to small and large employers — commercial and nonprofit — in all sectors (healthcare, finance, financial services, insurance, banking, manufacturing, retail, IT and high tech, hospitality and restaurants, and much more). A table and refreshments for two, plus access to a private lounge with wireless Internet access, will be included for all registered hiring employers.

Job seekers will be afforded opportunities for apply for full- and part-time positions, from entry-level to managerial with Bistro La Promenade, First Investors Corporation, H&R Block, Liberty Science Center, New Jersey National Guard, New Jersey Transit, New York Life, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Prudential Financial, PSEG, UPS, and several others. Additionally, they may take advantage of workshops on “Resumé Writing,” “Interviewing Skills,” “Targeted Job Searches,” and “Enhancing Workplace Skills.”
