Hudson County Community College Announces New Initiative, ‘Lead Hudson County: Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today’

August 29, 2016

August 29, 2016, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College President Glen Gabert, Ph.D. said that the College will offer a new initiative for the area’s future leaders titled, “Lead Hudson County.” The program is being presented by Hudson County Community College in partnership with the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and the Guarini Institute at Saint Peter’s University.

From October 21, 2016 through June 2017, Lead Hudson County will conduct monthly, day-long sessions (scheduled on Fridays) designed to cultivate the leadership skills of the men and women who will and can influence every aspect of life in Hudson County in the 21st century. Professionals and experts in their fields will guide Lead Hudson County participants through the exploration of topics essential to the advancement of the County, including economic and real estate development, education, health and human services, criminal justice and public safety, government and politics, cultural affairs, and media relations.

“We have designed a program that will assist Hudson County’s future leaders in better understanding the many forces and challenges facing our community, and helping them develop the relationships and skills to better serve the people of Hudson County,” Dr. Gabert said.

The program is open to a limited number of participants who should reflect the rich diversity of the people of Hudson County. The program is ideally open to individuals who are committed and motivated, live and/or work in Hudson County and are interested in volunteer, appointed or elected leadership roles. The cost for the program is $1,100.00.

Business and academic institutions as well as elected officials are encouraged to recommend – and perhaps sponsor – individuals who possess the leadership skills that will help ensure the continued growth of Hudson County.
