September 2, 2020, Jersey City, NJ – This Fall, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, many high school juniors and seniors will be taking classes online from the safety and comfort of their homes. These students – as well as those taking classes in-person at their high schools – can get a head start on their college education through the Hudson County Community College (HCCC) “Early College” program.
The HCCC “Early College” program is open to all juniors and seniors attending Hudson County high schools. Students enrolled in the program can earn up to 36 credits toward an Associate degree, and may even be able to substitute a college class for one of their high school classes. Study options include fully online, plus evening and weekend remote classes.
In addition to the benefit of jump-starting their college education, students participating in the HCCC “Early College” program pay just half of the in-County tuition rate – a huge savings in comparison to tuition at four-year institutions. Credits earned in the HCCC “Early College” program transfer toward baccalaureate degrees at four-year colleges and universities.
