Hudson County Community College Offers Interactive Virtual Classes in Spanish, French, Italian, and Arabic

Participants can develop conversational skills for personal and employment use.

 

September 3, 2020, Jersey City, NJ – Learning a second language can enhance communication with people of diverse cultures, enriching one’s personal and professional growth. This Fall, the Language Institute at Hudson County Community College’s (HCCC) Department of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is offering introductory Spanish, French, Italian, and Arabic language classes.

The live, virtual classes utilize the “Communicative Approach” that emphasizes learning and practicing language through interaction with the instructor and other students. Upon completion of any of the 10-session courses, students will be able to understand basic vocabulary and language structure, develop pronunciation and speaking skills, gain cultural knowledge, develop confidence in initiating simple conversations, and read written material.

 

Language Classes

 

Basic Spanish I classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 15 through October 15, from 6 to 7 p.m. The instructor is Karina Veiga. $45.

Basic French I classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, October 5 through November 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. The instructor is Djadji Sylla-Samassa. $45.

Basic Italian I classes will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays, October 6 through November 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. The instructor is Gabriela Fossati. $45.

Basic Arabic I classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, October 12 through November 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. The instructor is Marwa Abdelaziz. $45.
