Jersey City, NJ – Plans are underway for one of the most festive and enjoyable events of the year — the 2012 Hudson County Community College Foundation “Holiday Extravaganza.” The event will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 6, 2012 at the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute/Conference Center 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City.
HCCC Vice President for Development Joseph Sansone disclosed that this year marks the 15th anniversary for the gala event. He said the Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award — which recognizes organizations and individuals for their work on behalf of the College and the people of Hudson County — will be presented to PSE&G.
“The Hudson County Community College Foundation is proud to honor PSE&G for working in partnership with us these past several years. We are pleased to have this opportunity to thank them for their many contributions to our students and the College,” Mr. Sansone stated.
In addition to being the most festive of the Foundation’s annual fundraisers, the “Holiday Extravaganza” is also the largest. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to scholarships for deserving students, and for faculty development programs and the College’s physical expansion. The Gala includes a feast prepared by the chef-instructors from the College’s nationally acclaimed Culinary Arts Institute.
There are several opportunities for sponsorship of and donations to the event, including Dinner, Hospitality Hour, Table, and Scholarship sponsors. Additionally, there are opportunities to purchase individual dinner tickets for the event, and to donate to full and partial scholarships.
There are also opportunities for individuals and organizations to advertise in the event’s “Family Recipe Book and Ad Journal.” The full-color, 9x12” publication is distributed to everyone who attends the event and to all sponsors and advertisers. (The deadline for ads is Thursday, November 1, 2012.)
Established in 1997, the Hudson County Community College Foundation continues to play an integral role in the development of HCCC students, the College and the community. The Foundation is dedicated to generating financial support for the College and its students, developing and awarding needs-based and merit scholarships, providing seed money for faculty programs, and providing for the College’s physical growth. Since its founding, the HCCC Foundation has provided scholarships to more than 1,000 students who otherwise might not have been able to pursue a college education.
The HCCC Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation providing tax-exempt status to contributors. Complete information about the 2012 Foundation “Holiday Extravaganza” may be obtained by contacting Mr. Sansone’s office at jsansoneFREEHUDSONCOUNTYCOMMUNITYCOLLEGE or phoning 201-360-4006.
