October 4, 2018, Jersey City, NJ – “Nothing we do is more important than hiring people. At the end of the day, you bet on people, not strategies,” Lawrence Bossidy, retired CEO of AlliedSignal. A business’s successful workforce is built by Human Resources professionals who help create a culture and value through its employees.
Hudson County Community College’s Department of Continuing Education will offer “Introduction to Human Resources” to familiarize those who wish to become managers or team leaders with issues such as staffing, motivating and developing team members.
The non-credit, two-session course will meet Monday, November 12 and 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the College’s Gabert Library, located at 71 Sip Avenue in Jersey City – right across the street from the Journal Square PATH Transportation Center. Tuition is just $99 per person.
Human Resources leaders work across a variety of industries. They are responsible for the hiring, recruiting, administering, and training of personnel, as well as establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
“This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to learn the fundamentals of human resources, and for companies and organizations to provide staff members with an understanding of the most current best practices,” said Dr. Chris Reber, HCCC President. “Hudson County Community College is committed to changing and transforming lives by providing our community with quality instruction taught by leading professionals in their fields.”
