“Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success and helped introduce New Jersey wines and our wineries to a brand new audience in Jersey City. Attendees enjoyed not only the wine sampling but being able to interact with the Culinary Arts Institute’s team of student chefs as they prepared sample dishes paired with NJ wines,” said Tom Cosentino, Executive Director of the Garden State Wine Growers Association.
“After the Harvest Wine & Food event is a great showcase for Hudson County Community College. We’re very happy to team with the New Jersey wine industry and host the event for a second year,” said Dr. Eric Friedman, Executive Vice President and Provost at Hudson County Community College.
Hudson County Community College President Dr. Chris Reber added, “Thanks to our partnership with the Garden State Wine Growers Association and the Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development, more people can discover our nationally ranked Culinary Arts Institute as a premier venue and learn about New Jersey’s premier growing wine producers.”
Garden State Wine Growers Association member wineries will sample on the first floor of the Culinary Arts Center from 1-5 pm and attendees will be able to buy wine by the bottle and case. Educational wine tutorials will be held from 1-4 pm in the meeting rooms adjacent to the wine tasting area. The Garden State Wine Growers Association is the statewide organization for the advocacy and promotion of the New Jersey wine industry. Founded in 1984, the association has driven exponential growth through wine education initiatives, cooperative marketing campaigns, and a slate of annual events dedicated to taking our wines across New Jersey, and encouraging enthusiasts to visit our wineries. Comprised of over 50 members, the GSWGA produces wine events and wine trail weekends in participating winery tasting rooms statewide, to market the locally produced wines of the Garden State. The Association also addresses the legislative affairs and public relations of the state’s wine industry.
