November 6, 2018

November 6, 2018, Jersey City, NJ – Experienced art collectors and anyone interested in understanding the aesthetics of galleries and art can benefit from the Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Department of Cultural Affairs (DOCA) Collectors Club, and its tour of the Novado Gallery in Jersey City.

The DOCA Collectors Club tour of the Novado Gallery at 110 Morgan Street will take place on Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the entire community and there is no charge for admission. Novado Gallery features rotating contemporary exhibitions. Featured artists for the current show, “Referential,” include Yang Cao, Lacey McKinney, David Samuel Stern, and Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern. The artists’ work includes two-dimensional woven photography portraits and an array of oil and acrylic paintings.

The HCCC DOCA Collectors Club is dedicated to keeping the visual arts thriving in Hudson County by educating individuals about how to visit galleries, view art, and interact with curators and artists. The Collectors Club helps experienced and novice art collectors to cultivate and broaden individual tastes in terms of purchasing art and beginning or growing collections.

Throughout the year the DOCA Collectors Club meets at a variety of cultural venues and events, which began with the “Collect Hudson” exhibition last year. Since then, the Collectors Club has toured the HCCC Foundation Collection, Proto Gallery, and 107 Bowers Gallery & ArtSpace.
