November 26, 2018, Jersey City, NJ – The theme of “Americana” cuisine, an acknowledgement of distinguished community leaders, and a Lucky Odds raffle will be the features of the Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Foundation’s 21st Annual Holiday Gala celebration. Proceeds from the fundraising event will provide scholarships for students pursuing a degree at the College.

“Americana: A Gala Dining Experience” will be held on Wednesday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the College’s Culinary Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City. The festive gathering will include dishes prepared by faculty and students from the College’s Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) program, rated the number-eight culinary program in the United States. Guests will have the opportunity to visit the CAI kitchens, meet the College’s chef instructors and students and savor wines, hors d’oeuvres, main dishes and desserts representing several regions of the country.

That evening, William and Barbara Netchert will be honored with the Foundation’s Distinguished Community Service Award. Mr. Netchert is an attorney with the firm of Netchert, Dineen & Hillman and serves as General Counsel for the Hudson County Improvement Authority. A member of HCCC Board of Trustees since 2003, he has been Chairman of the Board since 2005, and has been instrumental in the College’s incredible growth. An integral part of the county and the College, Ms. Netchert served as Hudson County Clerk for more than 10 years. She was also Director of Jersey City Housing, Economic Development and Commerce, and Executive Director of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency.

The evening of the Gala, the HCCC Foundation will also hold its annual “Lucky Odds” raffle. The “Lucky Odds” Grand Prize winner will receive 40% of the raffle ticket sales, the Second Prize winner 6%, and the Third Prize winner 4%. Raffle tickets cost $50 each; ticket holders need not be present to win.
