December 2, 2016, Jersey City, NJ – Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Division of Non-Traditional Programs will host a Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a scavenger hunt being conducted from noon to 1p.m. The event will be held in the College’s Culinary Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City. Two floors of the Culinary Conference Center are being transformed into a winter wonderland especially for the event, which will feature a cultural corner highlighting the various holidays and customs of the Hudson County community, plus a live band and two photo booths. In addition, Santa will be on hand to pose for selfies with guests, who will be treated to free hot apple cider and cocoa.
More than 70 local vendors and businesses – including young entrepreneurs (nine to fifteen years of age) – will showcase and sell a variety of unique gifts and goods. Shoppers can choose from t-shirts, hats, winter accessories, jewelry, crafts, soaps, candles, original artwork, gift baskets, stocking stuffers, and vintage clothing. Guests will also be able to purchase delicious street food, as well as vegan and gluten-free delights.
In the true spirit of the holidays, the College’s Student Government Association will collect toys and clothing that will be distributed to needy children and families by area nonprofit organizations.
The HCCC Culinary Conference Center is located just two blocks from the Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City.
