December 6, 2022, Jersey City, NJ – The Board of Directors of the Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Foundation announces that for the first time ever, Gala guests will be able to view a selection of works from the acclaimed HCCC Foundation Art Collection at the upcoming Foundation Gala.
The 25th Anniversary celebration of the Gala will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the HCCC Culinary Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City, NJ. Gala guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a sampling of artwork from the Foundation Art Collection’s more than 2,000 works by emerging and internationally acclaimed artists in a special gallery on the third floor. They will also savor world-class cuisine while touring the College’s award-winning Culinary Arts Institute (CAI) kitchens, share cocktails and marvel at spectacular ice carvings of Chef Kevin O’Malley in the HCCC Seafood Bar and Lounge, and choose from an array of scrumptious desserts in the Paul Dillon Ice Cream Parlor to take home.
The 2022 Gala theme, “Investing in Student Success,” highlights the HCCC Foundation’s dedication to assisting students in achieving academic success by developing and awarding need-based and merit scholarships, providing seed money for faculty programs, and supporting the College’s physical growth and the cultural enrichment of Hudson County residents. Since its founding, the Foundation has raised more than $4.2 million in scholarships.
At this year’s event, the HCCC Foundation will recognize Ellucian Foundation’s endowment investment in the College’s innovative and award-winning “Hudson Scholars” program, and the award of $25,000 in Ellucian Path Scholarships to HCCC students.
The HCCC Foundation Art Collection includes paintings, sculpture, photography, drawings, limited-edition prints, ephemera, and much more by some of the nation’s most distinguished artists. Uniquely, works from the Collection are displayed in every College building, and serve as a “living museum,” teaching tool, and inspiration for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Cited as a model for other colleges and universities throughout the United States, the HCCC Foundation Art Collection reveals aspects of America’s and New Jersey’s rich artistic and cultural history from the Hudson River School period to today. In recent years, the College’s acquisition efforts have focused on strengthening its modern and contemporary collections.
