Graduation Requirements

Graduation Requirements

Students can view their progress toward graduation by logging into Student Planning.

If you have any questions regarding your degree requirements, please visit the Office of Advisement to speak with an academic advisor or counselor.

Graduate Lists

Click here for the Graduate Applicant List. Please note that this list is only accessible to individuals with HCCC login credentials. For any questions regarding the list, please email registrarFREEHUDSONCOUNTYCOMMUNITYCOLLEGE.

Please note, in order to complete your degree and graduate from HCCC, you must pass all degree course requirements. Being a Graduate Applicant and participating in a graduation ceremony DOES NOT automatically mean that you have completed your degree and graduated from the college.

Click here for the Graduate Candidate List. This list of students have completed their degree requirements as per the Registrar's Office. Please note that this list is only accessible to individuals with HCCC login credentials. For any questions regarding the list, please email registrarFREEHUDSONCOUNTYCOMMUNITYCOLLEGE.

Automatic Graduation

HCCC has a policy to “auto-graduate” students as soon as they complete all course requirements for their program, including shorter programs embedded within their degree program.

Students will automatically graduate from their chosen programs and any embedded certificates as soon as they complete all course requirements. View information about Auto Graduation.

Students should submit their form before their last semester begins, ideally at the beginning of the registration period for that semester.

  • Deadline if you plan to graduate at the end of a Spring semester: November 1

Commencement Ceremony

HCCC holds a Commencement Ceremony in May of each year at Sports Illustrated Arena in Harrison, NJ. All students who graduated in the prior academic year are invited to attend this ceremony with an unlimited number of guests. Additionally, students who complete their program requirements in the fall semester will also be invited to a December Graduation Celebration.

Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony and related activities will be sent to your HCCC email from the Student Life and Leadership Office. For more information and Frequently Asked Questions about the Commencement Ceremony, please visit the Commencement Ceremony Information page.

On the portal, you can also confirm that you are on the graduation list. Check the Graduate Applicant List (pending completion of spring/summer courses) and Graduate Candidate List (already certified as a graduate).

*Participation in the Commencement ceremony does not guarantee that a student will receive a degree. Degrees are awarded when students successfully complete all academic requirements.
