This comprehensive eight-week course is designed to equip educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). Through a blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, participants will explore key theories, methodologies, and practical strategies for teaching English language learners (ELLs) in diverse educational settings.
Week 1 will consist of students meeting on ground where they will be introduced to the coursework and acclimated to their learning environment.
Weeks 2 - 6 will consist of online instructor/student-led class meetings with the opportunity of having office hours with your instructor to discuss class material.
Weeks 7 and 8 will consist of teaching an in-person/online practicum. Students will teach a 15-minute lesson using the knowledge they have learned throughout the course.
**Participants will be eligible to work within the Continuing Education ESL Department
upon completion of the program.**
