The academic certificate program in medical coding will provide students with knowledge and competencies required for entry-level medical coding positions in hospitals, ambulatory centers, and physician-based settings. Graduates of the program will have the competencies in diagnostic and procedural classifications and terminologies, health record documentation, data privacy, revenue management, computer applications, clinical documentation improvement, and the life sciences.
