This certificate program prepares students for careers as Licensed Practical Nurses. Graduates will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of caring interventions in a variety of health care settings under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Responsibilities may include case finding, reinforcing patient and family teaching programs through health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive and restorative care.

• Criminal background Clearance.
Graduates of the Practical Nursing Program must pass the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the State of New Jersey.

LPN’s can work in a variety of healthcare settings including Long Term Care, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living, Ambulatory Care Centers, Surgical Centers and Doctor Offices.
Graduates are eligible to apply for the RN Nursing program at HCCC. Application is contingent upon RN admission criteria. Upon review, graduates will enter NURSING II in the spring semester.
All Applicants are required to take and pass this entrance exam. Applicants must achieve an acceptable score on this exam for admission consideration.
