Technical Diploma in Film / TV / Theater Acting
This advanced technical diploma offers a comprehensive, immersive training program tailored for actors seeking to master the distinct demands of film, television, and theater. The course is based on the pioneering Conscious Acting Praxis® Method developed by renowned actor and director Harry Geithner. Over three intensive weeks, participants will refine their technical and creative acting skills, equipping them to excel across various media platforms with precision, depth, and authenticity.

Class 1: Comprehensive Acting Theory and Methodologies: This class provides a deep dive into contemporary acting theories, with a focus on integrating traditional methods with cutting-edge approaches like the Conscious Acting Praxis® Method. Participants will explore the evolution of acting techniques across different media and analyze their application in film, TV, and theater productions.
Class 2: Character Development through Psychological and Emotional Analysis: Delving into advanced character analysis, this session emphasizes the importance of psychological depth and emotional layering to create compelling, authentic performances. Participants will learn to build multi-dimensional characters by applying biographical, psychological, and sociological insights, crucial for actors working across different genres and formats.
Class 3: Technical Precision in On-Camera Acting: This session focuses on mastering the specific technical demands of on-camera performance. Actors will learn the critical skills necessary for excelling in front of the camera, including subtlety in facial expressions, mark-hitting, and eyeline management. Participants will be coached on how to convey complex emotions and character intentions through minimalistic, nuanced performance techniques required in film and television.
Class 4: Stage Acting: Voice Projection and Physicality: This class transitions from the intimate demands of on-camera acting to the grand scale of theatrical performance. Participants will explore techniques for commanding a live audience through effective voice projection, dynamic stage presence, and strategic use of space. The focus will be on maintaining character integrity and emotional continuity in live performances.
Class 5: Advanced Improvisation and Performance Fluidity: Improvisation is a crucial skill for actors in both live and recorded performances. In this session, participants will engage in advanced improvisation exercises designed to enhance spontaneity, creativity, and adaptability on stage and in front of the camera. Techniques for maintaining fluidity and coherence in performance, even in challenging or unpredictable situations, will be emphasized.
Class 6: Ensemble Dynamics and Professional Industry Practices: This final class integrates all previously learned skills into collaborative, ensemble-based exercises. Participants will simulate real-world film, television, and theater production scenarios, focusing on effective communication and teamwork with directors, fellow actors, and technical crew. Additionally, practical guidance will be provided on navigating the business side of acting, including managing auditions, contracts, and building a professional network.
