The Technical Diploma in Film / TV / Theater Production is an advanced, immersive program designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in the rapidly evolving film, television, and theater production industries. This condensed 3-week course integrates the groundbreaking Conscious Acting Praxis® (CAP) Method developed by Harry Geithner, offering a holistic approach that blends technical proficiency with creative mindfulness. Participants will gain comprehensive expertise across all stages of production, from pre-production planning to post-production and distribution.

This diploma is aimed at both emerging professionals and seasoned practitioners in the field of media production, enhancing their ability to lead projects from concept to execution with innovation, efficiency, and artistic integrity. The program offers hands-on experience, guided by industry veterans, to develop technical mastery while fostering a collaborative and ethical approach to production leadership.

Upon completion, graduates will have acquired advanced production techniques, strategic industry insights, and the leadership skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive media landscape, whether in film, television, or theater.

Course Outline

Class 1: Comprehensive Overview of Production across Media: This session introduces participants to the fundamentals of production across different media formats, with an emphasis on the principles of the Conscious Acting Praxis® Method. Through in-depth analysis, participants will learn how to approach film, TV, and theater production holistically, understanding the interplay between technical execution and creative vision.

Class 2: Pre-Production and Casting Strategies: Pre-production is the foundation upon which all successful productions are built. This class will focus on advanced pre-production techniques, including casting strategies, team-building methods, and creating a cohesive production plan. Participants will learn to assemble a team that shares the project’s creative vision while applying emotional intelligence to foster collaboration.

Class 3: Production Design and Cinematography: This session covers the visual and technical aspects of production, including how to translate creative concepts into visual realities. Participants will gain an understanding of production design, cinematography, and sound management, learning to work with directors and crew to craft a cohesive visual and auditory experience across media.

Class 4: Practical Set Management and Real-Time Problem Solving: In this hands-on class, participants will apply their knowledge in simulated production environments, focusing on real-time decision-making, set logistics, and effective management. From coordinating between departments to managing unforeseen challenges, students will gain invaluable insights into the realities of live production.

Class 5: Post-Production Essentials: Editing and Sound Design: Post-production is where the story comes to life. In this session, participants will explore the essentials of editing and sound design, from cutting scenes to managing audio tracks. Advanced techniques in color correction and visual effects will also be covered, helping participants craft polished final projects.

Class 6: Distribution Strategies and Industry Best Practices: The final class focuses on the business side of production, guiding participants through distribution channels, marketing strategies, and navigating the complexities of the entertainment industry. Whether participants are planning to showcase their work in film festivals or distribute it digitally, they will learn the key strategies for promoting and distributing their projects.
