Summer Financial Aid Grants

The Summer Financial Aid Grants initiative is designed to help students accelerate their education by providing additional financial support during the summer term. By utilizing these grants, students can enroll in extra courses, stay on track with their academic goals, and graduate sooner—all while reducing out-of-pocket expenses. 

Available Summer Grants

Additional Pell Grant

Students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant may receive funding during the summer, even if they have already used their full Pell Grant award during the fall and spring semesters. 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Must be Pell Grant eligible.
  • Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
  • Enrollment in summer courses is required.
  • No minimum credit requirement for Pell Grant eligibility.

Summer NJ State Tuition Aid Grant (TAG)

New Jersey residents who received a TAG award during the academic year may qualify for Summer TAG, a state-funded tuition assistance program for students enrolling in summer courses. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a New Jersey resident.
  • Must have received a TAG award during the academic year.
  • Must meet the NJ Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) eligibility requirements.
  • Enrollment in at least six (6) credits during the summer term is required.

How to Apply

  • Automatic Consideration – Students are automatically considered for summer aid if they have a valid FAFSA for the academic year.
  • No Separate Application Needed – Additional Pell Grant does not require a separate application.
  • Summer TAG EligibilityNew Jersey residents who received a TAG award during the academic year may qualify for Summer TAG, a state-funded tuition assistance program for students enrolling in summer courses. Eligible students should confirm their summer course enrollment with the Financial Aid Office.
