Online Learning Advisory Council (OLAC)
Council Charge
The Online Learning Advisory Council (OLAC) serves as a vital forum for collaboration, feedback, and shared vision in support of Hudson County Community College’s Center for Online Learning (COL) and Hudson Online. OLAC ensures that Hudson Online remains adaptive, innovative, and responsive to the needs of students, faculty, and the broader community. The Council provides guidance to the COL on key decisions that shape the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of online education.
OLAC brings together faculty representatives from across all Schools, along with ex-officio members from ITS, Student Affairs, and the College Libraries, to champion constructive discourse while providing strategic guidance, fostering innovation, and supporting the development of high quality, accessible online learning experiences.
The charge of the OLAC is to:
- Advise and guide the Center for Online Learning in advancing the quality, equity, and impact of Hudson Online programs.
- Provide feedback on policies, practices, and initiatives that affect the online teaching and learning experience.
- Serve as a communication channel between Schools, departments, and the COL to ensure broad awareness and input across the college.
- Champion innovation by contributing ideas, surfacing challenges, and collaborating in working groups that address high-priority projects.
- Advocate for students and faculty, ensuring that online learning at Hudson County Community College is engaging, accessible, and aligned with the college’s mission.
Through regular meetings, open dialogue, and collaborative working groups, OLAC plays a central role in guiding the evolution of online learning at Hudson County Community College, ensuring our online ecosystem remains resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking.
